I’m grateful for my Boulder Colorado thanksgiving every year. It is my favorite American holiday. Maybe that is because Thanksgiving doesn’t involve gift giving and despite the earlier and earlier Black Friday sales, it is still the least commercial of all the holidays. Or maybe, it’s because a holiday that sets us free to enjoy food and libations (including leftovers) without guilt, is totally worth celebrating!
I have a really good life and am blessed to share it with folks who seek to enrich it. This last year has been one of intense change, new friends (who I would proudly call family), experiences, opportunities and challenges that I know I am very fortunate to have had. I discovered what the challenges of a broken foot really are, and surprisingly it wasn’t about pain. Eating and drinking at the kitchen counter because you can’t hop with a mug of hot tea, learning to be ok with a house that hasn’t been cleaned as regularly as you would like, and making peace with the lack of independence that comes with not being able to drive. I got reacquainted with living alone and loved it. Tortured myself with one home improvement project after another and not-so-secretly loved it. I began a renewed love affair with my real estate business and added property management to my skills, The list goes on and on.
I have a new perspective, energy and awareness. I am in control of my destiny and this week, that destiny is to host about 20 people at my Boulder Colorado Thanksgiving!
A picture tells a thousand words. These words, if spoken, would tell the story of a year in my life. The triumphs and joys more than balanced the challenges. It’s a story of beautiful landscapes and breathtaking sunsets, flying adventures, sunny vacations, mountain escapes, scrumptious desserts, home improvement, close friendships, learning, laughter and love.
I’m grateful everyday, but perhaps as I look forward to my Boulder Colorado Thanksgiving it’s a good time to share that.
