Colorado Gives Day 2013. Donate online, make a difference in Colorado

Colorado Gives Day this year is December 10th, 2013.  It is presented by Community First Foundation and First Bank, the corporate sponsor and is an initiative to increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving.

We have no shortage of people in need in Northern Colorado.   … And no shortage of organizations set up to assess those needs and serve those needs in the best way possible.  But without community and individual support, Colorado Gives Day will never as successful as it could be.  🙂

Last year we raised (and distributed) $15.7m, which was a 23%  increase over 2011.

Like me, you probably already donate to non-profits throughout the year or at the end of the year, or when a disaster occurs and you feel moved to contribute more.  Like me you probably wish you could give more… Well on Colorado Gives Day, you kinda do!

What makes Colorado Gives Day so special?

First Bank, the corporate partner for this fundraising extravaganza, has a program to boost donations. On December 10th all donations at the Coloradogives.org website will be FEE FREE!  While you  can set up recurring donations for year ahead, only the donations received on December 10th will be free of charges.

Last year, Coloradans made an astonishing show of support for local nonprofits by donating $15.4 million in just 24 hours. A total of $15.7 million was donated and distributed to over 1,258 nonprofits, thanks to additional contributions from the FirstBank Incentive Fund and 36 cash prizes.

Let’s see what we can do on Colorado Gives Day 2013!
