I came upon this Real Estate related video today and wondered if you’d get as big a kick out of it as I did…
And if you are laughing at X is for X-ray and thinking “that had nothing to do with buying real estate” then you’d be wrong.
As your Buyers Agent I would always recommend a home inspection as a contingency in the purchase contract. Yes, everyone knows someone who is knowledgeable in construction and will offer a low or zero cost “inspection”, but I’m going to offer you a list of 2-3 home inspector professionals who are experienced, thorough and become a home owners resource for as long as you own the house.
One of my inspectors offers complimentary thermal imaging as part of his service. That’s right… A kind of x-ray! It allows the buyer to gather info regarding insulation gaps in the walls or ceiling and perhaps more valuable still, can detect probable water leaks in pipes hidden behind drywall etc. Peace of mind comes from being armed with the most information you can get, before you sign on the dotted line at closing. It’s priceless… Just like the video above!
