Boulder County Farmers Market is Back!
As of Saturday April 2nd, 2016 the Boulder County Farmers Market is open for business again.
Boulder Farmers Market is located on 13th Street between Canyon Blvd and Arapahoe Ave, outside the Boulder Dushanbe Tea House.
The Longmont Farmer’s Market is located Fair Grounds, 9595 Nelson Rd.
Both of these Boulder County Farmers Markets have Wednesday afternoon sidekicks. You can find more info about this at www.bcfm.org
What is of offer at a Boulder County Farmers Market?
Lots of things! Of course you’ll find an array of seasonal flowers, herbs and locally grown vegetables, but there is more.
Organic meat, fresh eggs and a small glimpse of the healthy animals that our local farmers produce.
Goat cheese and milk that is delicious!
Fresh flowers in bowls and planters. Take them home and enjoy them inside or get that garden ready… The last frost will be done by the end of April and that would be a great time to begin planting outdoors. Herbs, seeds, hanging flower baskets, vegetable starters are already available, but maybe keep them indoors for a few weeks and introduce them gradually to their new life outdoors.
At the first Longmont Farmers Market of the 2016 season, we wandered in the sunshine and tasted everything from sauces to cheeses, tomatoes to gluten free cake. What made it back to the house? Two giant red tomatoes, a block of local cheese, one large and healthy zucchini plant in bloom and a brown paper bag filled with the most adorable and aromatic little mushrooms.
How lucky are we to live in a place that allows for t-shirts in April, a snow-capped view of the Rockies, fresh and tasty local fare, healthy lifestyle opportunities and an abundance of community spirit!?
