The Realtors Car.  A day in the life of.

We are all guilty of sometimes looking at a woman’s large handbag and wondering what the heck she totes around in that thing.  You know, the weird and wonderful contents probably tell you a lot about the lady – for better or worse!  Well, I’m going out on a limb and saying the trunk of a Realtors car is likely a big insight into their work days too.   Check this out!

1.   Silver Fern Homes yard sign to attract buyers at my listing.  (Sometime I have a mallet in the trunk of the car to pound this sign into the ground with but today its safely stored in my garage.)

2.   “Coming Soon” sign rider.  This one was on the above real estate yard sign for a few days before the listing went live on the MLS, at which point I changed the rider to “New Listing”.

3.   Carmex – to sooth my poor dehydrated lips in on a hot and windy summers day.  You can never have enough lip balm in the car!

4.   King Soopers bags and a re-usable bag for grocery carrying.  Now that Boulder has implemented its 10c charge per disposable bag purchased in supermarkets, I am finding it easier to remember to re-use bags!  Through gritted teeth I do thank the City of Boulder for making me a better person.

5.   Snow brush/ice scraper with extendable handle.  I know, I know.  It’s summer… but good weather is not guaranteed here and this one is a permanent resident in my trunk.

6.   Sticky lint roller.  I have a golden retriever and a black long haired cat.  No outfit is immune, but I still like to look professional. 🙂

7.   Lastly… I KNOW YOU’VE BEEN DYING TO ASK!  A short time ago, just before a closing, it was discovered by the buyer that the seller had overlooked some stuff and left bits and pieces up in the rafters of the garage. On a gentleman’s (gentlewoman’s) agreement, closing went ahead as planned and this Realtor promised to “deal with” the left over items.

I took a couple of super handy workers from my house to the recently sold house in question and loaded the unwanted items up for dumping.  Guess what wouldn’t fit into the overfilled truck, so ended up in the back of this Realtors car? A stop light.  Yes, a stop light.

I have since found a home for it and when I get a minute to drag it out of this Realtors car and clean the dead bird dust off it, it will be adopted out.

Sometimes that’s just how my day goes.  Unplanned, dirty and really quite quirky! The good news is that my clients, the sellers, are able to avoid a little unplanned, dirtiness in their day… The buyers are happy in their new house… And the deal is successfully completed.

Win-Win-Win!

…. Oh, you thought a Realtors car was for toting clients around in?  Well, sometimes.
